And why Green Kava is special.
Green kava is kava made from a freshly harvested kava plant. The roots are juiced and diluted with water, resulting in a strong kava juice beverage. A pure kava drink.
Most kava drinks are prepared using kava root that is washed and dried post-harvest, then ground into a powder. Drying and grinding kava into a powder makes it easier to export the crop. However, if you are fortunate enough to visit Vanuatu, the birthplace of kava, and go into a nakamal or kava bar there, you will be served a different type of pure kava drink, “Green Kava.”
The fresh kava root is brought to the nakamals daily for preparation that evening. It is then washed, ground into a pulp, and massaged in water to extract its juices creating this fresh kava juice drink. As you can imagine, fresh Green Kava packs a potent relaxation punch. It is for this reason that throughout the islands, locals enjoy drinking this kava on a regular nightly basis, just as many Americans stop for a beer on their way home from work.
Now you can enjoy Green Kava Juice too.
In late 2019, Kalm with Kava officially introduced Pacific Roots Kava, the first and only bottled Fresh Kava Product in the world. Pacific Roots Kava is Green Kava, just like the authentic, pure kava beverage you’ll find in the islands. It has been processed in a special manner to create a shelf stable beverage with no need of refrigeration.
It took months of product development and research to find a manufacturing process that would replicate the way Green Kava is made in a local setting in Vanuatu. And we were determined to create this product for the world to enjoy. The starting point was to find a way to extract the kava juice from the fresh root. Anyone who grates ginger root will know how much liquid it produces. It’s the same with kava. Once we’d achieved this, there were only a few more steps needed before we were able to bottle and bring you the true taste of pure kava from the islands – Pacific Roots Kava.
Try it today to experience fresh kava as they drink in the islands and discover the amazing social relaxation effects that kava is known for.
A few of other things make Pacific Roots Kava a great product choice.
- It is a ready-to-drink beverage. There is no preparation required. Just twist of the top and enjoy.
- There is no need for refrigeration, so it’s easy to store or take with you.
- There are two servings to each 8.5oz. bottle, so it’s easy to know how much to take. One serving should bring you the relaxation you’re looking for, and as those effects wear off or if they are not quite strong enough, you can always enjoy a second serving.
Green Kava is a Strong Kava
Green kava is one of the strongest types of kava. The process of washing and drying kava after harvest was introduced throughout the Pacific islands to make it easier to store and export kava effectively. Unfortunately, the process of drying the kava does reduce the potency of kava roots active ingredients, (kavalactones). So, while there are some very strong kava varieties, a beverage made with dried kava root will generally be less strong when compared to a fresh, Green Kava drink. Keep this in mind as you decide how many servings of Pacific Root kava to drink over the course of an hour or two.
Green Kava Customer Review
Here’s what one customer had to say about trying Pacific Roots kava for the first time.
“I’ve never had the opportunity to try fresh kava before so I had to give this a go. It tastes like what I would imagine fresh kava to taste like – more mild and vegetable like compared to dry kava. The effects however are somehow more pronounced. I consumed a half bottle as directed and the remaining half bottle about an hour later. That was enough to give me good vibes the entire evening. Pleasantly surprised.”
We hope you enjoy trying Green Kava and sampling our Pacific Roots Juice. It is a pure kava juice like no other. If you do, let us know what you think, either by providing a product review on the product page or in the comments below.
