Borogu is definitely my favorite variety. It’s less expensive than most other varieties but just as strong in my opinion. Also, the fresh, piney taste is much more desirable than some of the other kavas.

The borogu is the first kava I ever took a chance on, and bought a pound.
I wasn’t disappointed. I was taking meds for years to sleep, and looking for a more natural alternative.

They have recently change the grind of this borogu to a fine grind rather than medium, and I’d have to admit I like the change. I prefer medium grind kavas better in general just because I’m picky about not having any unnecessary root material coming through the strainer, but that’s not the case with the Borogu (especially in their basic muslin strainer). Also, you can get away with using less root for the same results because the fine grind makes for more efficient extraction of kavalactones. For what it’s worth, Borogu still has my stamp of approval and is still my favorite variety here, maybe even more so now.
