I just ordered micronized pouni ono for the second time. I received my order super fast and I live in Florida 🙂 The first time I ordered I went with micronized pouni ono and borongoru (still have some left). The borongoru makes me feel a very relaxed/heavy (in a good way) feeling. The other day I had some during the day and I needed a nap haha. The pouni ono is fabulous if you want that extra pep in your step without the jitters. I felt super anxious a couple weeks ago and could not relax so I had some pouni ono and oh my gosh, the stress just melted away and my anxiety disappeared. Sometimes I get this strange anxiety about leaving the house, like taking my daughter to the park sometimes seems so stressful/scary/daunting, it’s weird. Well after I took the pouni ono the other day, we went straight to the park and I felt so free about it. (I know that pry sounds silly but it was a big thing for me!). I’m new to Kava but have and have only tried one other brand, while effective it’s not as good as KWK’s micronized Kava. I am getting older and the good nights sleep were getting to be a rarity, now I’m sleeping soundly again, no waking up after a few hours and laying there tossing and turning, what a wonderful thing. Loving this company and their products! I received my Pouni Ono today in the mail and was quite excited. I have tried this particular one once before, as well as the Loa Waka. Pouni Ono has a light taste that pairs well with a fruity juice drink. I am unsure if others do this as I hear a lot about putting into milk, but I am lactose intolerant. Would an almond milk bind the kava like regular milk? Anyways! So I ordered this Monday and received it today on Wednesday. That is quite impressive itself as I live in the south eastern united states. I take a tablespoon of it with juice and within a minute my lips and mouth tingle. Within 10-15 I start feeling a sense of well being, everything seems brighter, less stressful. About 20-30mins after drinking Pouni Ono I feel light inside, my worries dissipate into a kind of logical method of dealing with them, without the pressure or negativity. I feel like I can manage anything. For a few days after taking this Kava, even if I have ran out, I am less fixated on things that annoy me. I have awful social anxiety, depression, and OCD type fixations on things that worry or annoy me. I am sensitive to cold air or a breeze touching my skin. I really do not like to be touched by people except certain areas. This helps with all of this. Although people have told me I am beautiful and smart my whole life, I have always stood back in the corner trying to be invisible. I have no friends because even going to the grocery store and the amount of people there panics me. It would be like the lights were so bright and the people were in my face even from afar. POUNI ONO IS A MIRACLE! I can do so much more now. I have started living life. I have phobias of bees, I can handle them with this kava. I was afraid of driving, I am learning how to again and getting my license. I am working on my GED studies now because I had ran away young and did not finish school. Mostly have had work at home jobs. I feel focused, driven, sociable, ambitious! I believe this product is LIFE CHANGING. It is teaching me tools to deal.
The Loa Waka was just as good as everyone says it is. It is quite a buzzy good feeling. For me tho, I need either light or heavy due to my emotions. I definitely see tho why everyone loves it!
I have had Tudei Kava in past and almost gave up. I will only ever order Kava from this company. Kalm with Kava products, shipping, website, customer service, pretty much everything about Kalm with Kava is amazing. I do not know what else to say except thank you.

I used to drink Kava at the bars fairly frequently when I lived on the islands. I’ve tried kava capsules (I don’t recommend), hand-making Kava from another brand (recommend, if you have time and expertise) and this one is it for me!
I bought 3: Borongoru, Pouni Ono, and Samoa Ava. I’ve had this brand for a little under a month. I first prepared them (1TBS) with whole milk as was suggested to me, but it got to a point where I couldn’t stomach it anymore haha. I started preparing it with a little hot water, just enough to cover the powder, then gradually adding cold water to bring the temperature to neutral. I’m not sensitive to bitter tastes, but this method is not for the weak. Hold your breath, toss it back in one go and wait for the fireworks. I found that this gives me the tongue-numbness I love, and it actually seems to kick in almost immediately, and maybe even stronger than when I prepared it with milk.
As for the specific strains:
Borongoru – has very little effect for me. Not sure why.
Samoa Ava – has a milder effect for me. Definitely an afternoon pick-me-up. Not too heady, not too body, just right for making it through the rest of the day on a sunny note. A favorite for winding down and stopping obsessive thoughts, I’m able to process things without stressing out. 1TBS of this is too much for me at once, so I usually split it into two doses over the course of 1-2 hours. Makes music sound great. Great, quality instant Kava. Have taken this one with a glass of wine to finish. Perfect balance.
Pouni Ono – 1TBS will completely take me out. It’s like riding an iridescent wave of chill. I don’t use this one during the day because the heady effects are so overwhelming that I tire out pretty quickly. It’s like being thrown in the air, floating blissfully for a little bit, and then being dragged down and landing on a nice, warm blanket. Towards the end of dosing, this one makes me feel like I’m heavy, almost melting into sleep. It makes me insanely social – I usually have trouble talking to grocery clerks. I am so socially anxious that when I cross the street, I sweat because I can feel people watching me. I can have full-on conversations with strangers comfortably the day after I drink Pouni Ono. The effects seem to taper into the next day no matter when I drink it, but I am abundantly mellow for the rest of that day. This feels better than beer at a house party. Absolute favorite.
Cons of PO: For me, it can be a little uncomfortable at high doses. It causes my muscles to lightly spasm. The Pouni Ono almost always leaves me with a migraine the next day. I’ve tapered my doses lower, down to 1tsp, and I somehow always wake up with a mild kava hangover. Nothing uncomfortable, but definitely noteable. I think this strain slightly elevates my blood pressure. Would not take with alcohol – I couldn’t imagine it. Still, the best around.
Overall, it helps me overcome social anxieties. It’s like the world around me isn’t as immediate. It helps me focus on my work and I don’t stress over pretty much anything when I drink this brand of Kava regularly. Kalm With Kava is officially my favorite brand, and I am already placing a second order.

Let me start off by saying, I never leave a review on anything but with how much Kava helped me I just have to. Long story short, I had an extremely bad problem with drugs. Some might say I went insane because of them. I however view it as simply loosing balance and becoming lost and confused in life. I just wasn’t myself. Once I discovered Kava(I tried Pouni Ono and Loa Waka) I became so clear headed again. It’s as if Kava helped me gain my mind back, hell it honestly gave me my life back. I’m talking with my family more, I’m able to look at myself and not be ashamed of who I am. which for about 3.5 years I could have never done. I’m also understanding so much more in life and I’ve never been happier. My energy has completely reverted back to what it once was when I was much younger. I can actually trust the things I’m thinking again and I’ve stopped doubting myself like I was. I’ve also been able to stop smoking weed(I was smoking anywhere from 5-8 times a day) and stopped being extremely unhealthy. To conclude, All I can say is thank you and to anyone reading this that has also struggled with similar issues and is considering trying Kava I highly recommend this. Choose a strain that fits you the best as everyone is different, what working for some might not work the same for others.
